The agreement, in plain English.

By accessing or using Invest Wise Way (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding contract between you and Invest Wise Way (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

You must be at least 18 years old and a Canadian resident to create an account. You confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter this agreement.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at security@investwiseway.ca if you suspect unauthorized access.

Reader is free with usage limits described on the pricing page. Plus and Household are paid subscriptions billed monthly or annually in CAD. You authorize us to charge your chosen payment method on the schedule shown at checkout. All charges are non-refundable except as described under our Refund clause below and in our Pricing page.

You may cancel at any time from your Settings. Monthly subscriptions remain active until the end of the current billing period; no further charges accrue. Annual subscriptions are pro-rated for refund within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, the remainder of the annual term runs through to the renewal date.

Invest Wise Way is an educational planning tool. We are not a registered investment dealer, IIROC member, licensed CFP, accountant, tax adviser, lawyer, or insurance broker. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. See our full disclaimer.

You agree not to (a) use the Service to violate any law; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy substantial portions of the Service; (c) upload malicious code; (d) impersonate another person; (e) interfere with the operation of the Service or another user's use of it; or (f) abuse the AI dispatch system in ways that exceed fair-use thresholds described on the Pricing page.

You retain ownership of any data you upload (statements, transaction lists, planning inputs). You grant us a limited license to process, store, and display that data solely to operate the Service for you. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties for advertising, or train AI models on it. Anthropic processes your AI dispatch prompts under a Zero Data Retention agreement; details in our Privacy Policy.

The Service software, design, calculators, agent prompts, content, trademarks, and the Invest Wise Way name remain our exclusive property. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal household financial planning. You may not republish, resell, or redistribute Service content without written permission.

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Supabase (Canadian region) for hosting, Anthropic for AI dispatches, and Stripe for payment processing. Your use of those features is subject to those providers' own terms. We are not responsible for third-party service failures, though we will make reasonable efforts to maintain a working integration.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee that AI dispatches will be accurate, complete, or current. Tax tables, benefit thresholds, and regulations change; you are responsible for verifying figures before acting on them.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, INCOME, OR DATA. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IN ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID US DURING THAT PERIOD, OR CAD $100 FOR FREE-TIER USERS, WHICHEVER IS HIGHER.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third-party right.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that exposes us to legal risk. You may close your account at any time from Settings. On termination, your subscription stops at the end of the current billing period; your data is retained or deleted per our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be announced by email and on this page at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario, unless mandatory consumer-protection law requires otherwise. Class actions are waived to the extent permitted by law.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. No failure to enforce any right is a waiver of that right.
